Enemy Of God signaled the triumphant return to form of German veteran Thrashers Kreator. Metal Chaos caught up with main-man Mille to unearth what lies ahead for 2006.

Hi Mille, how are things with you?
Very good, thank you !
Enemy Of God was a return to the bands Thrash roots. How pleased were you with the end result? What has been the reaction to the record from fans?
Great ! I like the fact, that our fans compare the album with our earlier classics like Coma Of Souls or Extreme Aggression and Pleasure To Kill, which I take as a compliment !!!
When it came time to write Enemy Of God was it a conscience effort to put out an album in the vein of the earlier Kreator records?
You can't plan an album. Whatever comes out of you, is what ends up on the record, so I would describe the creative process as something spiritual, that you do not have control over as an individual !
On the topic of writing, Enemy Of God has quite a political / religious theme; did you find the writing process a cathartic experience?
Yeah, kind of.... That's a good way to describe it !!
The recording of Enemy Of God happened very quickly after the end of the extensive touring in support of "Violent Revolution". Didn't you feel jaded at all after nearly 3 years on the road?
We've had breaks in between, so it was not like we were out 3 years non stop. I always try to wait for the right moment for an Album to leave my brain.... I felt, like I had something to say again !!
Andy Sneap again produced the album. How do you find working with Andy again?
He's great! Even though I could kill him sometimes !!!
Kreator spent the majority of 2005 on the road, and 2006 sees the band back on the road in the US with Napalm Death. How much are you looking forward to getting back out on the tour?
Can't wait !! I get bored at home after a while !!!
Not having toured the USA from 1996 until mid 2005, did you notice any significant difference in the fans that came out to see you?
Metal is back in the US ! As a non hippest German band, it's not so easy sometimes, though. But there is a great scene in some areas !!
Do you find there is any significant difference between the US and European audiences?
No real difference! Metal people are alike across the globe !
The current Kreator line-up has now been together since 2001. Do you now feel this the definitive Kreator line-up?
Definitely yes!
Much has been made of your appearance on the 'KinderKanal' show where you discussed Thrash metal. How did this opportunity come about?
No big deal... They contacted SPV and invited us. The kids were great !!!Good experience !!!
During the mid to late 80's Germany produced some of the more memorable Thrash act's, Destruction, Sodom and of course Kreator. What is the German scene like today?
Very alive.... There is some cool new bands in the metal and metalcore underground
Many of the Thrash bands around in the day are making reunion records and tours. What do you think has stimulated this refound interest in Thrash Metal?
No idea! I am kind of naive, so I believe it's because of the music !!
After the tour of the US, what's next for the band?
Working on a new edition of Enemy Of God and a new official DVD to be released in late 2006 + another European tour, Australia and UK.
Is there a final message to all the Kreator fans out there?
You are the best !!!!
